Dog Holliday's Walkabout

It's been a very long time...

I've been busy getting used to Wylie and waiting patiently for him to start feeding me from the table. It's finally happened!

Scenario: Breakfast Sunday morning. Wyatt and Eli eating bacon (yummmmmmmm) and eggs in the breakfast nook, Wylie sucking/chewing on a biscuit.
Me: Patiently drooling and watching for Wylie to do the inevitable.

I pounce the moment Wylie decides he's done with a part of the biscuit and casually (trying to hide from mom and dad) drops it in the side of his highchair so it might fall to the ground.

Wylie laughs. I get food.
Life is good!

My new role in life...

So in a few weeks (4-6 to be exact) I will have new role in this life of mine. Protector and cuddler of a baby. Eli and Wyatt keep bringing items into the house that are giving me the idea of some big change that is going to happen soon.

I'm taking stroller walking lessons with Wyatt as well as claiming my spot on the bed before whatever is coming home takes over.

I wonder if I'll have to share my toys???

Kennel Cough

I caught my first cold last week just in time for a visit from Aunt Tea and Ed. It made me sick and hurt a lot to cough like that. Eli took me to a new and really nice veterinarian who listened to my lungs, checked out my teeth and throat and ended the visit with a cookie.

I was on antibiotics that were really yummy. I was also given codiene that tasted icky enough that even slices of cheese didn't hide the flavor and I would spit them out. Eli had to hold my nose and mouth shut to make me swallow them. I didn't like that very much.

According to the vet, I caught this cold from my new friends at Cage Free K-9 camp. This was a huge bummer as I really would like to go run around all day with my friends.

As of today I am healthy and happy and back to normal. No more coughing.

California

In the new California house!

I've been so busy exploring my new backyard and neighborhood that I've forgotten to update my blog. Actually Eli didn't have a computer at home or DSL or a Phone for almost 6 weeks when we first got out to LA so I didn't even have access.

Wyatt and Fred took me to the airport on Friday June 14 for my first flight ever. I tried to be brave but the crate wasn't super comfortable and the plane was really noisy. Upon my arrival in Los Angles Eli was there to meet me but I had to wait patiently while the forklift I was riding on got to the car. It was hard not to be overly anxious while Eli and the airport guy opened my crate to let me out.

There are so many new smells and new people that I'm not sure what to do on some days. I've been to a new dog park in Silver Lake, gone swimming in the Pacific Ocean in Long Beach and gone for several car rides all over the city. I also have a slightly bigger back yard to explore (not much bigger) so playing fetch with Eli and Wyatt is tons of fun.

I've tried to make friends with other dogs on the block but they are not nice at all and tend to scare me! Most of them are behind big gates and just shout at me when I come by. The dog park dogs however are really friendly and mostly we just run in circles together.
More to come soon.

The renovation...

So my owners are crazy and are renovating the kitchen. As a result I've been eating in the dining room with my food on a raised tray and I only get bottled water now.

Spring is beginning to spout here and I'm going a bit stir crazy with all the bird outside and the construction and noise. When I do get out I have to run in circles in the front yard, go to the fence to say hi to Pebbles and Geisha, then run to the backyard to say hi to Beisha through the wood fence. I'm still not sure if it was put up to keep Beisha from coming over to play or to keep my owners house out of view.

I'm waiting for a great walk tomorrow for my grandmom's birthday. I get to go visit Fred and Frank and Nora. THis means yummy treats and playtime!

Here's a photo of Fred helping with the renovations followed by me helping with the renovations.

ME testing the floor!

Friday, March 10, 2006

Lost three siblings. One just up and dissapeared out of the tank, another just casually went away and the third was murdered by the only other fish in the tank! I knew it was smart of me to remove all my toys away from that fish tank!

Stripe aka spike is the only one left...

In other news, my house is in an uproar. I cannot find my food dish, nor can I rely on finding scraps on the kitchen floor anymore. Mostly because there is no kitchen floor left.

Siblings!

This is stripe. They go away when you turn the light on.

This is spot. He's a little more shy than stripe.

So I now have three new siblings! I have taken the precaution of bringing all my toys up to the bedroom to keep the new kids from stealing them. It is also very important for everyone to remember that I need to be fed first and that these two showoffs can wait...

My new siblings do not yet have names but Eli and Wyatt keep calling them Angels and Pig fish.

I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. It is hard to photograph through a fish tank.

Me in my Mardi Gras Beads...

Mardi Gras

The big mardi gras party was on Saturday night but I've had my beads on since Friday. It was tough hanging out around all that food on Saturday night but everyone was nice to me and gave me a nibble or two when Eli and Wyatt weren't looking!
